Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club Christmas Training Times 2025:

The last training session of the year will be on Tuesday 23rd December 2025. The club will then close for the Christmas holidays and reopen in the New Year on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

Sensei Kev Lomax would like to wish all students, parents and everyone supporting the association, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club Student of the Month December 2025:

The Student of the Month award for December goes to Andy. Andy has really impressed Sensei Kev Lomax over the last few weeks with his dedication and commitment to learning Shotokan Karate. Andy always puts in 100% effort into his training and the results are really showing. His knowledge and techniques have greatly improved so well done Andy and keep up the excellent work.

​Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club New Beginners Class January 2025:

There will be a new beginners class starting on Thursdays in January 2026 for all students, male or female, aged 7 years and upwards. No experience is needed to train and the class will run separately to the main class and will be 1 hour long. Sensei Lomax will teach the benefits of Karate for Fitness and Self Defence and the first class will be free. There will be limited places available so if you are interested please call Sensei Lomax on 07306 295977.

Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Association Awards 2025:

​​Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Club 3rd Dan Award:                       

Huge congratulations to Denis Robinson for achieving his San Dan (3rd Dan) award form Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Club. Despite some serious health issues Denis keeps training and shows incredible spirit and determination. Denis is pictured holding his certificate with Sensei Brent Fletcher, Sensei Kev Lomax (Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Association Chief Instructor) and Sensei Pete Key.

This is an excellent and well deserved achievement and the culmination of over 50 years of training and dedication to the art of Shotokan Karate.
