Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club Easter Week Training 2026:

There will be training as normal on Tuesday 7th April 2026 but there will be no training on Thursday 9th April 2026.  Hope you all have a nice Easter Break.

Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club Student of the Month March 2026:

The Student of the Month award for March is Marshall. Marshall has really impressed Sensei Kev Lomax over the last few weeks with the great effort he is putting into his training. His knowledge and techniques have greatly improved and there is a real improvement in his overall standard of Karate. Well done Marshall and keep up the excellent work.

​Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Club New Beginners Class January 2025:

There will be a new beginners class starting on Thursdays in January 2026 for all students, male or female, aged 7 years and upwards. No experience is needed to train and the class will run separately to the main class and will be 1 hour long. Sensei Lomax will teach the benefits of Karate for Fitness and Self Defence and the first class will be free. There will be limited places available so if you are interested please call Sensei Lomax on 07306 295977.

​​Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Club 3rd Dan Award:                       

Huge congratulations to Denis Robinson for achieving his San Dan (3rd Dan) award form Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Club. Despite some serious health issues Denis keeps training and shows incredible spirit and determination. Denis is pictured holding his certificate with Sensei Brent Fletcher, Sensei Kev Lomax (Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Association Chief Instructor) and Sensei Pete Key.

​Congratulations to Sensei Kevin Lomax who has reached the level of 6th Dan. This is an excellent and well deserved achievement and the culmination of over 50 years of training and dedication to the art of Shotokan Karate.
