In Memory of Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Student Denis Robinson:

We are very sorry to announce that Denis Robinson passed away on 21st August 2026 after a battle with cancer. Denis was a student of both Ilkeston and Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Clubs and achieving his San Dan (3rd Dan) award from Bakersfield Shotokan Karate Club despite serious health issues. Denis kept  training for as long as possible and showed incredible spirit and determination. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Denis is pictured holding his 3rd Dan certificate with Sensei Brent Fletcher, Sensei Kev Lomax (Ilkeston Shotokan Karate Association Chief Instructor) and Sensei Pete Key.
